What Changed

Meaningful changes to the kit, newest first, in plain language. Typo fixes and build housekeeping are left out. Every change, large or small, is visible in the commit history.

September 2026

  • Templates section restored. A build-tool default had been silently dropping every template page and spreadsheet download from the published site. The folder was renamed and every link updated; downloads work again.
  • Fourteen law and tax pages checked against primary sources. Every legal, tax, regulatory and pricing claim on the entity, tax, pricing, employer contract, state law, Medicare opt-out, corporate practice, controlled substances, HIPAA, BAA, privacy, telehealth, documentation and incident response pages was verified and linked to its source. Errors found and fixed included the 2026 HSA rule for DPC fees (missing everywhere), several Medicare opt-out rules stated backwards, four states wrongly listed as having DPC laws, and the self-employed health insurance deduction described as reducing self-employment tax. These pages now carry a Reviewed mark.
  • A dead link replaced. The telehealth page had linked to an old domain for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact that no longer belongs to the Compact. It now links to imlcc.com.
  • Contributor guide rewritten, with two kinds of review: a twenty-minute read-through anyone can do, and a full source check for the pages that turn on law or tax. Credit, licensing of contributions and affiliation disclosure are spelled out.
  • About This Kit page added, stating who built the kit and that nothing in it is for sale or vendor-funded. The footer now says so too.
  • "Talk to a mentor" links added to each section overview, pointing to the DPC Mentor Platform's public mentor list.
  • Dates on every page. Each page now shows when its text last changed, taken from the edit history. Pages that depend on changing law or pricing carry a "Subject to change" box.

June 2026

  • All fifty state guides marked as read through.
  • EMR vendor directory: pricing updated, with a caution that vendor pricing changes often; EMR selection guide disclaimer revised.
  • Bootstrapping resources: every resource now linked.
  • Automated checks restored so that a broken link or a page missing from the navigation blocks a change before it is published.

April 2026

  • Repository moved to the DPC Mentor organization; all links updated.
  • DPC Mentor branding applied: Sora typeface, green and gold palette.
  • Interactive checklists: on checklist pages, boxes can be ticked and progress is saved in your own browser. Enabled on the bootstrap startup guide, minimum viable practice, business registration, equipment and supplies, and patient onboarding pages.
  • Small Business Fundamentals section added.
  • Content moved under a single docs folder and broken internal links fixed.
